Materials of Carbon Steel Buttweld Fittings
Carbon Buttweld Fittings includes below standards and grades:
ASTM A234 WPB (most common)
ASTM A234 WPC (higher than WPB)
MSS-SP-75 WPHY-42/46/52/56/60/65/70
Materials of Alloy Steel Welded Pipe Fittings
Standards and Grades:
ASTM A234 WP1, WP5, WP9, WP11, WP22, WP91 etc.
Stainless Steel Butt Weld (Buttweld) Fittings
Stainless Buttweld Fittings Standards and Grades:
ASTM A403, ASTM A312, WP304/304L/316/316L and etc.
Stainless steel welded pipe fittings mostly in thin thickness, as SCH 10, SCH 10S, SCH 20, SCH 20S, since this will be a cost advantage for the stainless steel material.

FAQ
Q1: What standards do your buttweld pipe fittings comply with?
Answer: Our buttweld fittings are manufactured in strict accordance with international standards, including ASME B16.9, ASME B16.28, ASME B16.49,GOST 17375, GOST 30753-2001, GOST 17376, GOST 17378, GOST 17379, EN 10253.
Q2: What is the range of materials you can supply for buttweld fittings?
Answer: As a professional factory, we offer a comprehensive material range:
- Carbon steel: ASTM/ASME A234 WPB-WPC
- Alloy steel: ASTM/ASME A234 WP 1-WP 12-WP 11-WP 22-WP 5-WP 91-WP 911
- Stainless steel: ASTM/ASME A403 WP 304-304L-304H-304LN-304N
- ASTM/ASME A403 WP 316-316L-316H-316LN-316N-316Ti
- ASTM/ASME A403 WP 321-321H ASTM/ASME A403 WP 347-347H
- Low temperature steel: ASTM/ASME A402 WPL 3-WPL6
- High performance steel: ASTM/ASME A860 WPHY 42-46-52-60-65-70
Q3: Can you provide buttweld fittings in heavy wall thicknesses (Schedule 160 or XXS)?
Answer: Yes. We specialize in both standard schedules (Sch 40, Sch 80/XS) and heavy-duty requirements (Sch 120, Sch 160, and XXS). Our advanced forming equipment allows us to maintain wall thickness uniformity even in high-pressure components.
Q4: What NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) do you perform on buttweld fittings?
Answer: To ensure zero-defect quality, we offer various NDT options: Radiographic Testing (RT) for welded joints, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) for thickness and integrity, Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), and Dye Penetrant Testing (DP). Every fitting undergoes a final visual and dimensional inspection before packing.
Q5: What is the difference between seamless and welded buttweld fittings in your production?
Answer: Seamless fittings (up to 24") are made from seamless pipes using cold or hot forming, ideal for high-pressure applications. Welded fittings (usually 24" and above) are fabricated from plates and undergo 100% X-ray inspection to ensure the weld strength matches the parent material, providing a cost-effective solution for large-diameter piping.
Q6: What is your production capacity for large-scale EPC projects?
Answer: With multiple production lines and an extensive raw material inventory, we have a monthly capacity of over 800 tons of pipe fittings,700 ton flanges. We are experienced in managing "project packages" that involve synchronized delivery of elbows, tees, reducers, and caps to meet strict project timelines.
Q7: How do you protect the beveled ends during transit?
Answer: Beveled ends are the most critical part of a buttweld fitting. We apply anti-rust oil or black painting to all fittings and protect the bevels with plastic caps to prevent mechanical damage and corrosion during sea freight.
